Diva Challenge #48

I'm back with the challenge again.  It felt so good to put pen to the paper again.  With the upcoming holiday season looking to be quite hectic, I am trying to discipline myself to read my Bible and draw a tile before I even go to the computer.  This is my contribution for the Diva Challenge.  We were to use a circle, square, and triangle as our string.  Then we were to use patterns we've not drawn yet.  I couldn't resist doing Rick's Paradox.  I just love that one!  The patterns I used were: Nipa, Scrumble, Paradox, Up and Across, and Netting (gone bad but still ok).  On netting I didn't realize that the circles needed to be off set.  So it's a different design.  It's all good.  I'm going to a workshop tomorrow presented by Carole Ohl in Ohio with a couple of friends.  A day of Zentangle, friends, and out of town.  Life doesn't get much better.

Birthdays Come and Birthdays Go

November is a busy birthday month for us.  My youngest son was born on November 4th.  Got busy online and ordered presents and gift card.  My oldest son was born November 13th, yes it was even a Friday (and my third trip to the hospital).  We had him over for dinner with presents galore. (Thanks to his loving wife)  My birthday was on the 6th.  It seemed like I celebrated all week.  People just kept giving me presents and sending good wishes.  It was great.  My husband took my oldest son, his wife, and me out to dinner in Indianapolis.  It was a great time.

Now it's on to the business of Thanksgiving.  But before that, I've had to deal with a damaged car.  At the beginning of the week, I was inside a church attending a prayer shawl meeting.  Someone in the congregation that was there on business backed into my car.  It was not drivable.  Believe it or not I kept my cool.  I was just thankful that they came back inside and found me.  Their insurance will cover everything, even a rental car for me.  No one was hurt.  For that I thank God.

Maybe in a day or two I will find the time and inspiration to create a Zentangle.  I really want to do the Diva's Challenge this week.  Sounds promising.

I'm Back and Making Up Time

At our training, we were given luggage tags to tangle.  This is one I did in my spare time.  Way too much fun!

I AM A CERTIFIED ZENTANGLE TEACHER

I know I'm a little late posting this, but I've been busy.  I received my certificate on October 14, 2011.  All 100 of my classmates were thrilled to be certified.  This means we have gone through very intensive training, but it was wonderful.  When I got home, I just had to veg for a day or two to soak it all in.  All of us can now officially teach our craft to others.  It's an amazing journey I'm embarking on.  It will probably take me where I thought I'd never go.  But I'm sure I'll have fun along the way.  If you're in Central Indiana and would like a class or more information, please comment below.

Diva Challenge 44

This week's Dive Challenge was to use a tangle as your string.  I chose oof.  The tangles inside include hurry and shattuck.  In keeping with the Halloween spirit, shattuck kind of looks like brains.  Or maybe it's just me.

A Meditation for the Husband

I was praying for my husband while he gave a talk during the Kairos Prison Ministry.  I found it hard to just pray.  So I decided to tangle.  The tile below is what came out of it.    Can you see the symbolism that came from this experience.  When I was done, I was amazed at the design and what it could all mean.  Hope you like it.

New Business Card

After much agonizing and time, I have developed my new business card.  It's two sided just to get you excited about the art you can create "one stroke at a time."
